Glenn Allen is a California original. Born and raised in Sacramento, he comes from a family steeped in musical tradition. His grandmother was a singer and pianist and his uncle is a professional drummer. Glenn carries on the practice today as an emerging singer songwriter with an original and distinctive sound. His voice is gentle yet strong and his lyrics are reflective, dealing with personal life changes and relationships. His music is textured with lush harmonies, robust guitar work, and melodies that draw the listener in. Glenn started playing drums when he was 12 years old. At age 17, he also picked up the guitar and then piano- and almost immediately began writing songs. Not long after high school, with numerous bands expanding his repertoire and deepening his performance experience, he formed a Top 40 band in the Sacramento area. Soon, he was out front playing guitar and singing backup. He quickly became the band's primary songwriter penning many original works. It wasn't long after that when Glenn moved to Los Angeles to further hone his skill as a songwriter and producer and attended the Musician's Institute where he studied audio engineering and perfecting his knowledge of music production. In the summer of 2007, Glenn began recording in his home studio with bassist Wayne Lothian (English Beat, General Public) and later drummer Chris O'Brien (The Lift, David Tyson) was brought in to lend his powerful drum style to the mix. Additional engineering was done by Zoran Todorovic who has worked on projects for Seal, The Eagles Randy Meisner and many others at Sonic Farm Recording Studio. The tracks were honed further with Grammy nominated engineer and producer Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson) at Titan Music in Studio City, Ca. Now residing in Seattle, Glenn is preparing for the release and support of his debut independent album. Featured songs from his forthcoming CD can be heard on the music page of this website. Enjoy listening...........

Lyrics
I wanted to save you You were all alone I wanted a breakthrough Through your heart of stone But I reach up too high And it's a long way down With open eyes But somewhere in my mind Everything was clear I wanted to break you I wanted to break you down And this would be the start of somethin' I wanted to change you I wanted a change somehow Turns out I just keep you runnin' I wanted to tell you Straight from my soul That I held on too tight When I lost control And now the time is right But it's a long way out The other side But I woke up to find Everything is clear I wanted to break you I wanted to break you down And this would be the start of somethin' I wanted to change you I wanted a change somehow Turns out I just keep you runnin' I would take you higher than the sky And wipe away all the tears you cry I only want to be there for you Is there really nothin' I can do?
