Story behind the song

After Sept. 11,2001 There was a vast display of patriotism all across this nation. Democrats and Republicans were united as never before. The red, white and blue was flying on every building, every house or yard, every vehicle on our highways.  Immediately I wanted to thank God for this great nation that He has blessed. And as I looked at these colors, the red, white and blue, I began to understand something: 
THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE COLORS ON OUR FLAG WERE NOT RANDOMLY SELECTED!
I believe with all my heart our forefathers intentionally chose RED for the blood of Christ, White for His righteousness and Blue for His royalty, honor and truth.
I began to study the history of the flag to see if this were true. I can tell you this. The design and colors were up for debate in the "Continental Congress" for over a year.
Francis Hopkinson, a signer of the Declaration of Independence was returning to America by ship. He had already brought his family here and settled in Rhode Island. The ship was two weeks out when he began the design of the stars and stripes, and chose the colors. History does not say that he chose the colors to honor Christ. It also does not deny it. The fact that it was in congress for over a year tells us there was much debate over it and we know the majority of the signers and the fathers were very devout Christian men.
We have no reason not to believe the colors were chosen for His blood, His righteousness and His truth.

RED is for the blood of our Saviour divine,
As He laid down His life on the cross.
