I am currently re-recording the guitar and vocal tracks on this page with Scott Nelson, a great musician with a natural talent for recording and bringing out the best in a song. We are working on a complete CD of original songs, finding my own unique musical direction and sound. Somewhere between traditional country and folk. Hopefully we will have it completed by early summer.

Lyrics
woke up, she's 45 it's noon, she's still in bed didn't get up when the doorbell rang she'd been cryin' and her eyes were red he called last night to apoligise he was gonna change the plans the kids were sick, he couldn't get away he knew that she would understand chorus that's the way it's been, that's the way it'll always be when a woman gives her heart to a married man she gets pieces of the life he leads that't the way it's been how it's always gonna be she'll get diamonds and pearls never what she needs only pieces of the life he leads ver2 tommorrow night she knows he'll stop by with some trinket in his hand tell her he loves he, gonna make it right now he's doing the best he can and she closes her eyes, opens her heart, later on she pretends to sleep hide her tears until he's gone she never cries until he leaves chorus bridge tonight she'll go to dinner with a few of her friend it's a last minute thing when they heard that he phoned, they couldn't leave her alone alone, with memories over red wine, she'll laugh and she'll smile listen and agree she knows it's time, to leave him behind but God, how will she breathe.... chorus copyright Kathy Hudson 2005
