Austrian Melodic Power Metal Band! --- Disbanded in 2006!
Austrian Melodic Power Metal Band Eleftheria was founded in 2004, and has been in existence in it's current lineup since about that time. We play Melodic Power Metal, with a lot of different influences due to the diverse musical backgrounds of our various members. So we include elements from Black or Death metal as well as folks elements and traditional Heavy Metal parts. Furthermore, the availability of 4 singing voices adds to the diversity of the songs. Anyone interested in traditional European-style Metal should risk a download, and maybe even someone who doesn't especially like that genre might be pleasantly surprised.

Story behind the song
This is the in-between part of the three-song-cycle "Thunder of Doom - An Oath We Swore - The Ride"... An Oath We Swore now evolves around the brave villagers in the moments before they leave their scorched town to meet their foes again in battle; where they swear their oath to avenge those fallen in the past raids of the approaching army, and where they also promise to protect those who survived. Musically, this song is especially interesting from a rhythmical point of view (I guess it's also our bass player's favorite song hehe); there are some switches from a 4/4 beat to a 3/4 beat, some trioles and also some nice technical showcases by our lead guitarist; note the end of the 3/4 beat before the song goes into the chorus. Although I personally am not happy with my performance on the lead vocals during the verses, I think the chorus turned out pretty well in the end with a high-rising lead vocal line of mine, combined with a nice men's choir-chorus in the background, which additionally is combined with a nice Blind-Guardian-Like lead guitar line by "Van" Alen. A pretty dense chorus I think, but confers a neat bit of bombast despite its rather unusual chord pattern. Enjoy!
