Story behind the song
[DZK's weird ass verse broken-down In simpler terms] -
Comparing various attributes of Hip-Hop and Classical/Operatic Music.
The way Hip-Hop lyrics are delivered on beats with such
character and so many emotional highs-and-lows, makes
the intelligence of the writer more important than that of
a normal musician, if not strictly for the fact he/she has
a lot more acual substance of importance to write and
perform (that if one is not careful, could be flawed and
poorly received).
Using poetry consisting of very-clearly delivered syllables
and punctual rhythms, Rap resembles a symphony or opera in that
the "rapper" is free to roam within the time-sigantures and
play his "vocal instrument." Therefore, the rapper's syllables, or
"articulate phonics" become the lead and are represented by
the instrumental "sonic ligature" of a symphony or opera.
"Composers" in the case of my comparison, have been replaced
by "Producers" who are now responsible for the overall sound
and recording of the art. They study electronic synthesizers
(keyboards, computers) so that they can make more interesting
and well-receieved beats. They mimic the lessons taught by
composers, who are the first creators of "popular" music.
Instead of orchestra's, they are guided my the clear digital
sound of computers and technology to create a masterpiece. They
do not have to rely on individual players to reproduce their work.
Musicians today, have been given the gift of hearing exactly what
their work sounds like, which gives them an advantage over old
composers in terms of detail.
So while you might not think Rap can compare to Classical/Operatic
music in terms of skills, as an art-form... You must at least agree that
the technology associated with Rap is more apt to allow the music to
fully reach a listener, due to the complete control of a producer.
Thereby making it more powerful to our generation than classical
might've been to a previous one.
Lyrics
[verse]:[1] - [M. Law]
Ladies and Gentlemen, it's (A dot Jackson)
and M-Law finally gettin' back to rappin
One of the burbs baddest Anglo-Saxons
Who happens to be beggin for a lil action
Came lean from training, copped experience
Teamed on the track with a leathal lyricist
Lookie Quick, this Rookie hits what pro's missin
Mixin more rthyme schemes then you knew existed
Explicit content is the only I spit shit
Watch your girl switch hit my stick shift
Unexplainably sick, like the first case of sars
Got the flamable flow, settin fire to bars
Clearly above par, called the illest by those who listen
When I drop my songs I gotta sell 'em by perscription
Ain't feelin me? You're on the road to perdition
Even Gods sittin' around sayin' ["Damn that boys wicked"]
M-Law the tounge twisting musical magiction
On a mission to exspose exceptional talent while lifted
Six month hiatus has syllables beggin to help create
the greatest twenty four bars since I turned the pages
Of my first rhyme book, which seemed like ages
of lost hope and forgotten aspirations of greatness
contagious like a cold; the hopes of being famous
You might catch the bug, but you still on middle wages
[verse]:[2] - [Professor DZK]
the descriptive diction of the Hip-Hop culture's
written opinions, delivered with energetic pulses
of harmonics blended, with multiple drum repetitions,
which oscillate into exalted momentous
heavily impressive, compositional messages,
make intelligence in competitors more sensibily relative.
using poems consisting of intricate syllable rhythms
to interact with the instrumental, Rap's an individual
musical miniature, similar to symphonic signature
with articulate phonics switched with sonic ligature.
production apprentices study electronic synthesis
to better induct accepted melodic segments, simpler
said for those of you confused, I mean we mimic
several classic veteran composer lessons, and instead
of orchestral, percussion and wind sections,
we edit sessions of beats with a signal compression
see, musicians have in essence become incredibly
perfected with the introduction of digital development
the audio we now hear is crystal clear to a decibal
and mechanically quantized to the finest measure,
so while rap might not compare elaborately to Operatic,
and Classical fanatics, it technically captures, a more exact
interaction between the perceptional relation we have with
racket, vibration, modulation & static
