Verneda Flexing is a progressive and experimental electronic music project, comprised of sole member Richard John Elliott.
Verneda Flexing was born in 2003 as a psychedelic, experimental and progressive musical outlet for the home studio explorations of Richard Elliott. Richard had grown up listening to just about every type of music imaginable, and attended classical piano lessons from a young age (reluctantly at first), as well as learning to play bass guitar and drums. In fact, Richard had already been making music for several years before Verneda Flexing was invoked, and had performed in bands such as the Purple People Eaters, Flicky and the Beans, the Siege Machine and Circle of Contention. In 2003 Richard released what would become the first Verneda Flexing album, "the Absence of". This album was a collection of songs that had been written in only 6 months time, and had been put together with the intention of being a collection of musical organisms (made of pure information), which were completely sentient lifeforms (and, unfortunately for the listeners, were also completely evil). When listened to in a relaxed and calm state, these lifeforms (or songs) had the ability to hijack the nervous systems of any nearby humans and force them to perform unimaginable deeds upon each other, before self imploding themselves into the darkest corners of existence. Richard had never intended the 14 tracks to leave the four walls of his studio (the consequences at that time were unthinkable), but once the final track had been finished the filth creature Zarq-q-Hex from the seventh ring of Bartubah emitted a sonic wave, instructing him to release the album in the form of a light cloudy vapor which travelled around the earth, secretly urging every human being to visit the very website that you, reader, are viewing right at this moment. So you see, the circle is at last complete. More to the point, since that time Richard has released a further three albums, with each sequential release bettering its predecessor in terms of musicianship and quality, while at the same time exploring new ways of enslaving humanity to the slow drumbeat of mindless compliance to his will. Richard lives in Cambridge, United Kingdom, and is now in control.
