Story behind the song
I had a mustang back in the day, about twenty years ago now...this is dedicated to her. May she rest in peace. I came up with the lyrics back in 1995 when I was taking a long ride in Molly, and by the time I got back home I had all the lyrics worked out in my head. I took the chorus from the Davy Crocket song..."Davy, Davy Crocket, King of the Wild Frontier." I totally own the fact that I ripped that song off big time!
