Artist picture
Anessence is just one person. I am an artist striving to express myself through music.
I am 46-year-old musician who keeps his music to himself for the most part. I was slated to be a concert pianist until a farm accident in 1991. After that I no longer performed. It wasn't until 10-12 years later that I regained sensation in my left hand, and I began to write music. I will never have the skill I did pre-accident so I write in tracks and then mix them. As such, I cannot perform anymore. Initially, I thought this was a downer thing, but I now love writing music like this as it leads me to New Age music. If you knew me, you would never guess I write New Age. I find music to be necessary to life - even critical.

Story behind the song
The original melody was written by me a long time ago as a folk/blues ballad on an acoustic guitar in response to...yep, a woman. Recently I dug the tune up and totally rebuilt it into what you hear now. As a ballad it was hopeful and sentimental, but now it is just plain sad. I wanted to rewrite it to a sad song because I hope to someday write it into a Symphonic Rock song. If you know of anyone interested in collaborating on a Symphonic Rock song, let me know.
Lyrics
No specific lyrics, but it may evoke feelings related to a sad time in your life. Feel free to drop me any suggestions for lyrics.
