It's just me solo, on my own. I have been known to collaborate and record with others.

I enjoy creating music in a variety of genres such as pop, rock, jazz, classical style, big band and even some orchestral music. My recording set-up is fairly simple: a Mackie Spike USB soundcard with Traktion recording software. I use Sibelius software for score writing. My main instrument is guitar: I mainly use a Yamaha SG1000 and a Yamaha APX 9 nylon strung.

Story behind the song

This is a rehearsal track for a live performance I did in June 2005 with a slide show using old science fiction images as a backdrop.
The live performance, over a midi backing track, was intended to be an 'instant composition'.
The 'live' part of this piece was played on a Yamaha SG1000 electric guitar through an effects pedal. It is an improvised solo part, with a repeating riff throughout the piece.
I chose this piece because the simplicity of the backing track allows me to create something new with each performance. 
The piece is intended to create a feeling of nostalgia.
Apologies for some of the playing errors, but this recording was only meant to give me an idea of how a live performance would sound.
