From the "10th Anniversay Edition" [2010] dedication of Theatre Zazou: "If only it was last week (or year even), it would be remembered as such. But in actuality, the body of work done by Theatre Zazou was recorded over a decade ago. The sound is raw. The performers were raw. There were no slick production... there wasn't time. The feelings and emotions that the performers needed to express had to come out at that very moment. The guitars weren't always in tune. Hell, sometimes tracks were recorded with no regard for the initial tracks (since they were even muted in some cases). How the humble beginings of the group (founded in the mid-1800s by Donatien Zazou) found their way into 5 wayward artists on 6595 South is unknown. But it was by pure magic that these recordings even exist. Revisiting these tracks is long overdue. Especially since the only existing CD copy was left at a sex party by one of the members... It's a period of life that is forever documented. And thank God for that. This remastered version is dedicated to my fellow artists, who will always remember how they rang in the year 2000. -- Rob Darke"
