Story behind the song
I was In Douglas Corner Cafe to write with Mervin "My Bud",and was waiting for a rock band to finish up a CD release party /concert when this girl started trying to get my attition by dancing in front of me in this little sun dress while looking back at me.I slipped into the kitchen doorway and started kissing my ring and saying "I love you"to my wife,"who was 60 miles away at the time",Well about a year or so later Mervin was playing the song we wrote in the round with Tony Arata,and two other hit writers and Mervin's lovely wife,actress Jennifer O'Neal and he told the story of what he seen from his office door and everyone busted out laughting but after the show,about three "hit makers" asked me if I'd be intrested in writing a song about the events of that night.Well I had already written one with Mervin titled "Long Tail Cat,In A Room Full Of Rockers", but when Lynn Langham ask me I was floored and I jumped at the chance to write with her.I've been a fan of Lynn's writing sence way before her hit with Winona Judd.
