Heeia was a favorite surfing spot of King Kalakaua. This song also tells of another favorite past time of the king.

Hawaiian Music by Hwn Boy Mike Kaawa
From a young age, I remember hearing my tutu lady playing her guitar, wahine slack-style, on the porch of her Pauoa valley home. Growing up, both my mom and dad played sweet slack-key at home, too. So it wasn't a suprise to anyone that I picked up playing guitar. 12-string Ovation is my guitar of choice. Hawaiian music is my passion.
