Story behind the song
A special dedication to the Cree reserve of Kashechewan on the shores of James Bay. This song originally was written about the indifference towards the first nation’s people and specifically about the desperate situation of the Innu teens of the north.
Lyrics
Don’t care about your indignation or the Indian reservation or the Innu situation just care about my exploitation There’s a full moon rising over the sea There’s a full moon rising as far as I can see Don’t care about your indignation morning news on the pabulum grill the sorry state of the Innu Nation and all the yawns from up the hill There’s a full moon rising over the sea there’s a full moon rising as far as I can see there’s a red moon rising over the sea there’s a red moon rising as far as I can see Take my hand as we go walking down this winding windswept road through grassy fields and undulations and all the wonders nature holds
