Story behind the song
This song really started as inspiration. I was on Soundclick listening to various artists and came across one known as Jenesey. I was amazed at the beauty and simplicity of this artist. She performs songs written and previously recorded by other artists but it was the sound of a guitar and her amazingly pure voice that was inspiring me to write something that basic. So with that in mind I was just playing a simple chord progression and noticing my dog sleeping on the floor in my recording room. "Where the Dog Sleeps" was the obvious title from that point and in less then an hour it was recorded. I had to clean up 2 spots...I mean in the vocals but other than that guitar parts and the other instruments were done first take.
