A stripped down pop song with a heavy beat.
Artist picture
downbeat trip hop with a listener friendly sound. Portishead meets DJ Shadow.
Formed in 2004 while working on Jonathan Ammons’ solo album “Science,” Caladium brings the angelic vocals of Ashley Berger, and Ammons’ gritty and downbeat production together to form an ethereal blend of modern trip-hop. The duo’s work on “Science” brought rave reviews from Garageband.com which saw their single “Numb” break the top 30 and win a healthy crop of awards including Best Female Vocalist (twice), Best Lyrics and Track of the Day. Now in the beginning stages of recording their first album, Caladium holds a much more organic sound than in previous releases. Blending trippy electronic beats with funky acoustic breaks, mellow Rhodes piano’s and eerie acoustic piano’s, the new Caladium promises a heavily grounded sound that, with Ashley’s ethereal vocals, become the perfect amalgamate of a new breed of Chillout and Alternative Pop.
