Life ain't always easy on this road to life, but through Christ, we as Christians can do all things. And through His grace and our faith comes victory.
This music changes lives!
Story behind the song
Life ain't always easy on this road to life, but through Christ, we as Christians can do all things. Jesus promised us when we live for Him that we would experience temptation, tribulation, and persecution. But He also promised us that He would never leave us. So through His grace and our faith comes victory.
I was motivated to write this song because people tend to pretend that when we become Christians all of our problems go away, but that is simply not true. When we read through the New Testament we see a different story. Read it and see for yourself.
Lyrics
Intro
We walk a narrow path/
And things ain’t always easy on this road to life/
But I know through Christ I can do all things/
And through His grace and my faith comes victory/
Verse 1
People tend to pretend that on this road to life everything is rosy/
They preach a soft Christ and a message that’s non-imposing/
But a non-imposing message is a message that’s false/
‘Cause God expects us to deny ourselves and take up the cross/
And take our thoughts captive as we adapt to this Spirit-led/
Life as Christians we listen and practice what Christ says/
We reckon ourselves dead to this world’s scandalous ways/
It takes the full armor of God to withstand these last days/
So stand with your waist strapped with the belt of the truth of Jesus/
Hold the word of life out to a dyin’ world that needs it/
Fit your feet with the gospel of peace and be a witness/
With meekness to give a defense for the hope that is in us/
Go to the sinners with the righteousness of Christ to guard your heart/
And take the shield of faith for quenchin' Satan’s fiery darts/
But you gotta start by takin’ the helmet of salvation/
A relationship with God through Christ don’t put it off seek him tonight/
Hook x 2
Life ain’t always easy/
On this road to life but through Christ I can do all things/
He said He’d never leave me/
So I trust in His grace and my faith leads to victory/
Verse 2
People tend to pretend that we can live in sin and still make Heaven/
But that’s nothin’ but nonsense and they’re nothin’ but fake brethren/
It’s Satan they're reppin’ for you’ll find in their repertoire/
Many ways to lead souls astray they live to make war/
With the saint’s of God their righteousness is just a facade/
Wolves in sheep’s clothes they’re full of dead bones on the inside/
We got to expose their lies before it’s too late/
Don’t take it lightly ‘cause it might be you they lead to the Lake/
What you need is a true faith one that makes you forsake sin/
You’re in a fight for your life to keep the faith to the end/
‘Cause what it takes to win the crown of life is faith that overcomes/
Make no mistake about many who doubt it get overrun/
By Satan because he makes em’ think their souls alright/
‘Cause in a past moment of faith they trusted in Christ/
But their light is no longer burnin’ they’re back to that life of sin/
And if they don’t repent they won’t be with Christ when their life ends/
Hook x 2
Verse 3
I won’t try to pretend that life is easy as we walk this narrow path/
'Cause the world hates the light they hate Christ they mock and laugh/
And ask me why I would believe in somethin’ I can’t see/
I tell 'em I can’t see oxygen but I need it to breathe/
They don’t believe ‘cause they don’t wanna leave the pleasure of sin/
I can relate because I used to live for pleasure like them/
But when I saw the wage of sin was never ending torment/
My common sense told me its evident I better repent/
And ever since then I’ve lost friends, the devil’s attacked me/
With sickness and suicidal thoughts to try to get at me/
I know walkin’ this way of the cross ain’t all smiles and happy/
But through tribulation and trials I got Christ to back me/
Forget the life that’s in back of me I look to what’s next/
The glory that’s waitin’ for me when they put me to rest/
When my test is finished and I see my Savior in person/
And He gives me His blessin’, “Well done My good and faithful servant”/
