This song tells about how I saw Christians, God's grace, and myself before and after I looked at myself in the light of God's Law: The 10 Commandments.

Lyrics
Hook I know who saved my soul/ And I want this world to know/ That I was once blind once lost now I’m blood bought/ Reconciled to God by the blood He shed on the cross/ Verse 1 Y'all might relate to me I used to be the one who drank Hennessy/ Or Bud Light every night the world was a friend to me/ I was an enemy of God in my mind through wicked works/ And I never did go to church/ Never did read the word never thought about sin/ I wasn’t putting God first I never thought about Him/ Never thought about when where or if I would meet Him/ In short I lived my life as if I just didn’t need Him/ I just couldn’t see Him or understand why/ People spoke about the cross of Christ with tear filled eyes/ Or how tear filled lives could be changed in an instant/ To joy-filled through God’s grace faith and repentance/ God’s grace didn’t make sense and didn’t amaze me/ I saw Christians as senseless confused and crazy/ And maybe just a little out of touch with reality/ When they claim that Jesus came to take their sins at Calvary/ I doubted He ever lived and I doubted the Scriptures/ Especially the one that said my hearts deceitfully wicked/ I wasn’t easily convicted and I didn’t feel guilty/ ‘Til the Law entered in showed me my sins and killed me/ The Ten Commandments 1. I am the Lord your God you shall have no other god’s before Me 2. You shall not make for yourself any idols 3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain 4. Remember the Sabbath day 5. Honor your father and mother 6. You shall not murder 7. You shall not commit adultery 8. You shall not steal 9. You shall not lie 10. You shall not covet Verse 2 The law showed me myself in truth left me with no excuse/ And produced guilt cause my conscience was the proof / That I knew what was right but I chose to do the wrong/ And proved that I was a slave to sin all along/ Even though all along I thought I was a good man/ When I saw my life in the light of the 10 commands/ I began to understand I was on my way to hell/ Eternity in the flame and I could only blame myself/ It was me who rebelled against the God who made me/ And made a god to suit myself a god who wasn’t angry with me/ Who’d never see adultery was in my heart/ I lusted constantly for woman plus for money clothes and cars/ See my god was just like me so it wasn’t too bad/ To tell white lies steal and dishonor my mom and dad/ And when I had drama with those who made me wanna hurt ‘em/ The god I created didn’t see my hatred as murder/ But when faced with the burden of guilt my conscience buried me in/ I knew my god was only and imaginary friend/ And contrary to him the true God’s standard for Heaven/ Was a life without sin He demanded perfection/ But I’m much less than perfect so I don’t deserve to get/ To Heaven when I die and now I understand why/ People cry when they speak about Christ on the cross/ ‘Cause through His sacrifice it’s my life that He bought/ Paid the cost for my sins now I’m righteous in Him/ Perfect justified just as if I’d never sinned/ And now His grace makes sense ‘cause it’s grace that saved me/ Now the world thinks I’m senseless confused and crazy/ Hook x 2 Copyright 2005 by Eternal
