The story of my life is simple I can divide it in two/
There was the me before and the me now that I’m in You/
Even now I don't know how You could do what You had to do
I thank You God that You did what no other dad could do
Put your Son through what I deserve and now I live
‘Cause Your Word says You gave Him for what I did
Made my sins His and put us both on the cross
He suffered and died so I could be righteous but all I lost
Was a sin filled life and love for this worlds corruption
Now that I’ve seen Christ this world can’t offer me nothin’

Even through tribulation my joy helps me to rise above it
In private or in public I’m never ashamed
To speak the Name of the One who brought me out of the chains

Lost folks think it’s strange that I raise my hands
They ask me why do I feel like I should praise this Man
They don’t understand the cross it’s foolishness to them
But to us it’s the power of God that defeated sin
We depend on the sacrifice of Christ to save us
And we live this Christian life by the grace that God gave us
Undeserved favor enablin’ power that’s God’s grace
Mixed with my faith nothin’ here is to hard to face
I can hardly wait ‘til the day I make it to glory
‘Cause I wanna see Your face like every man who came before me
Those who ran this race before me I’m lookin’ to them
And to Christ the author of my faith beginnin’ to end

But then I know what kind of fellowship could we have

Yeah it’s sad and though I pray for them every night
I know in the end it’s them who got to choose what’s right
This must be what You felt like when I was out there lost
And all You wanted me to do was take a look at the cross
What it cost the price that Christ chose to pay
To be the author of eternal life for those who obey
And so I praise You everyday for those who never gave up
They prayed everyday hopin’ that my eyes would open up
And I would put my hope and trust in the One mediator
Between God and men the Man Christ Jesus as my Savior
