Story behind the song

Lyrics
She was a fine chick, finesse, sundress, long hair, I see her walk by, I give her a long stare, Every guy on the block was tryin’ to get her number, She tossed them aside like lumber, and stayed in slumber, So I laid off, stepped back, let her do her thing, Her smile was like a perfect beat, that made my heart sing, Departing, her was hell seeing her leave was heaven, In time she opened up to me, more than a 7-11, Couple of run-ins, grocery store, gas station, Then at the movies waitin’ for friends wit no patience, So we made a plan, and came to the conclusion, That we should watch the film together, to end confusion, The fusion, between us was instant, automatic, We got along so well it was like magic, Then I got kinda nervous, my palms got all sweaty, Then my brain exploded, producing tons of confetti, I decided to let whatever happens happen, But this goddess influenced my rapping… This goddess influenced my rapping…. Days passed, it’s me and her, strolling holdin’ hands, When I’m with her, it makes me the boldest man, She even influence my social life, Cuz now when cats see me on the street they compliment the way I hold the mic, Open mic nights? Heads are inviting me to attend, And also they tell me “make sure you bring your friend” I’m telling you, she’s so easy to talk to, She even helps through tough times, like a video-game walkthrough, So I went to the open mic, tried to get on stage and tripped, If that’s not bad enough, when I grabbed the mic and tried to rip, It was that same stereotypical flow, lacking breath control, Couldn’t play the dope role, like someone stole all my soul, It seemed like my skills had been robbed, But even worse when I looked out to the crowd, Iris was gone, I eventually got off stage, and thrown out the venue, Quietly under my breath said “Al what’ve you gotten into” Then when I went home, she was standing on the front porch, She looked mad at me, I guess it’s time to pass the torch, I wanted to beat her to the punch, so I said let’s just be friends, She said okay… but that’s when the beat ends… Said she got a call from work, that’s why she left early, Then she nervously smiled, her teeth all white and pearly, Her umbrella was inside, so I had to open the door, Then I gave it to her, and a hug goodbye, but it felt like she wanted more, She wouldn’t let go of me, then I thought about my decision, It wasn’t accurate, but surely a depiction of precision, Well, I decided to let whatever happens happen… But this goddess influenced my rapping,… This goddess influenced my rapping.. Didn’t see her the next day, or the day after that, On the flip side, I didn’t even have the will to rap, It’s like, without Iris, I can’t or rip the spot up, Man, I’d even look at nature, hoping she would just pop up, Staring at flowers, maybe she’ll put her hand on my shoulder, Then maybe I can again be the number one mic holder, 10 ten times colder, and twenty times bolder, And phat like a bad kid’s permanent record folder, But that never happened, she didn’t pop up behind my back, And now when I try to write, it feels like a crime to rap, Listen to a beat, but the pen says frozen in my fingers, Maybe she went on vacation, or chose to be a leader, Of some extremist group, or broke to school to be a preacher, Whatever, All I know is.. I really miss her features, Called about 30 times, hopin’ she’ll get back to me, And hopefully sometime soon cuz I don’t like being a wack emcee, And I’m lost and confused, I need an excuse, Cuz now my ego’s bruised and my soul feels abused, I don’t understand, why’s she gone without a notice, Maybe she can clear things up, cuz I’m out of focus, Next afternoon, somewhere around lunchtime, I’m eating a sandwich, and I think up a funny punchline, “Wait a minute”, I said, this shit I don’t believe, I started to freestyle. My skills had been retrieved! So there I am, busting freestyles into my recorder, And then I h
