"Come mothers and fathers throughout the land, and don't criticize what you can't understand," is how Bob Dylan put it. I just call it DEFIANCE.

Story behind the song
I watched one too many young adult rebel against the very people who gave them life and sustained them through the years.
Lyrics
DEFIANCE Defiance burns in your eyes; The fire is hotter than Hell. Deep inside your mother cries, Pretending that all is well. Pretending that all is well. Oh, where is that sweet angel Who played in the nursery? There was no way to foretell This flash flood of misery. There was no way to foretell This flash flood of misery. Defiance! Defiance! Defiance burns in your heart; The flames eat up your spirit. Your father is falling apart. His heart breaks - can you hear it? His heart breaks - can you hear it? Oh, where is that sweet angel Who played in the nursery? There was no way to foretell All the coming misery. There was no way to foretell All the coming misery. Defiance! Defiance! Defiance burns in your soul, Igniting demons within. But God is still in control. Pray that He keeps you from sin. Copyright 2005 Richard Gonzalez/Lex Zaleta
