Female lead singer, folk/rock, soulful vocals, life journey lyrics.
To look at her, you wouldn’t think this singer/songwriter was much of a vocal powerhouse. Small, redhead, freckles and an infectious smile, Holly doesn’t look like the person that holds that voice. In fact, if you close your eyes and listen, the picture in your head would most definitely not be this little white girl from Oregon. Her soulful sound is a surprise that leaves you breathless and wanting more. Born and raised in the Portland (OR) area, Holly grew up a "red-headed step child". Music was her refuge. Whenever times were bad, sad or confusing, she could always find sanctuary in a song. Her mother remembers watching her toddler dance around in a white underslip, singing her heart out into a microphone made up of a straw with a ball of tinfoil on the end. From time to time she would over hear Holly practicing her Grammy acceptance speech and thanking all those who had believed in her. At the very least, even then, this girl believed in herself. In April of 2003, Holly and her band released her first CD entitled, Throw Out The Net. This album is an honest, raw snapshot into Holly’s heart. It describes her journey to find peace in a world where little can be found. The album is fueled by Holly’s passion to help others find that peace for themselves. Currently, Holly plays around Portland at different venues and events, offering her voice to many worthwhile projects. She is also an active worship leader in the music ministry at Sunset Presbyterian Church. Her passion and energy this year is going into the writing and recording of her new album Holly hopes to release sometime in 2005. Whether you’re a fan of Gospel, Folk, Rock, Soul, Pop or R&B, there's something about Holly that affects everyone. With a voice that cuts through the darkness and finds it's way into your heart, this singer will make you believe.

Story behind the song
This song was written in a time of clarity about a time of desperation. We are not in control!
Lyrics
I swim away from you every time I feel the waves. You're calling me from shore but I can't hear you anymore. (C)Throw me your lifeline. Preserve this sinking soul. Throw me your lifeline. I'm losing the illusion of control. I thought I was able when I headed off alone. But now I am unstable and the water's getting fierce and strong. (C) Save me... save me...save me...Save me, Jesus, Save me, Jesus, oh...
