Story behind the song
Back in 2000, I made a remix of the drum'n'bass tune Sly Detector by Psyne, for which I created some deep heavy drones using various software tools.  In April 2005, while listening to the remix, I had the idea of reusing the same drones as the basis for an ambient track, and Solar Core is the result.  Other elements in the track include the sounds of a roaring, crackling fire, and a computer hard-drive spinning (both heavily processed with reverb filters).  If you enjoy songs such as Justlikeit by AMP, then you'll probably enjoy this track.
