Acoustic folk from Glasgow, Scotland. One guitar, one voice, bound to be wearing a checked shirt and drinking tea. Sad songs, happy ones, protest, love and Chri
An acoutic singer-songwriter-y sort of fellow, with tinges of folk and a hint of lime.
Likes: tea, checked shirts and listening to music.
Dislikes: writing bios in the third person.
Take a listen if you can to some of the music. If you've time, it would be good if you could leave a comment on the messageboard bit and a link to your own music if you've got one so I can give you a listen!

Haven't updated this page in ages, though I've uploaded a couple of new songs: - mainly because I've finally got a new website up, www.midgemckay.co.uk :)

Not getting much chance to do anything with music at all at the moment due to having a rather busy non-music life! Deadlines at university and the rest of the non-fun parts of being a student. But I still found an aold song I had written words to and never completed, so I'm half way through playing with that. Guess it'll have to go in the pile with all the other things I wanted to do to put on Soundclick:( Here's hoping I get some free time sometime soon!

Plod-along song complete! It's called Tenderness (though that could possibly change a wee bit) and if I Can get some work done today on other stuff then I can have a go at recording some of it. I've still not started The Crow's song that I want to cover though, have to see about that too! But hey - it's Sunday.

After SC being down for a few days, I finally got the chance to put some reviews up on the page. Check them out on the links bit to the right of this. In other news, I've been writing a plod-along song, nice and happy (so far), think Badly Drawn Boy when his mum knits him a new hat.

Dan, aka The Crow (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/thecrowvt.htm) has allowed me to record one of his songs, The Meeting Of Hands. I think it's a brilliant song, and I'm excited at the prospect of recording it myself.

Decided against the rack compressor - I might as well use the software one I have, and spend the money on other things:) First thing was a new Schaller soundhole pickup, so that's something new to play with - already recorded a rough version of The Flag by Martin Hollis, a friend of mine. A few more days work on it (amongst copious amounts of tea) and I'll have a nice new song!

Planning on investing on some new recording equipment, my microphones aren't too great and I fancy getting a nice rack-mounted compressor, isn't eBay our friend? Might try and get a couple more songs up from the back collection - enjoyed my #33 spot in the Acoustic Folk chart, Scots Wha' Hey and Raise your Hand seem to get quite a number of plays!

Uploaded "Raise Your Hand". It is one of five songs from the "Like Father, Like Son" EP I had been working on with a fellow songwriter. The lyrics and story behind the song are up, so you can check it out.

Began recording a song I've had on the back burner for a while now, "You Make Me So Proud". It's about a family who lose their father in the war.
In other news, I'll be putting up some songs from the Single Mic Sessions. The name says it all: one mic, no mastering or anything, just normalised volume and mp3'd. The first 2 to go up will be "Brand New" and "Scots Wha' Hey".

Uploaded four songs from The Tryst Workshop. Hoping to re-record a couple of the older songs, maybe going for the simple approach instead of layers.
