Story behind the song
Louisiana Sunrise was written after a long drive from St Cloud Florida, up to New Orleans through the beautiful bayous and the swamplands of the Mississippi. Early morning sunrise, sunny days, blue skies, the open road, beautiful sunsets and good company.
Lyrics
Driving down the road on seventy five Heading for interstate ten Sweet mama I'm taking a drive Driving to New Orleans Lake City far behind us Tallahassee here I come Mobile Alabama Pensacola on the run Louisiana sunrise Long-time on the road far up in the distance The gulf of Mexico Don't know where I'm going Or what I'm running too Music on the radio It's the melancholic blues Moonlight on the bayou Sweet Georgia on my mind Open road before me Louisiana sky Morning sun is on the rise Day has gust begun Yesterdays memories Dimmed with the setting sun Louisiana sunrise Long-time on the road far up in the distance The gulf of Mexico Don't know where I'm going Or what I'm running too Music on the radio It's the melancholic blues I'll live life's adventures Seeking wisdom where I can With the knowledge that surrounds me Who am I but mortal man? Your bright lights attract me Like a moth to a flame Consumed with your beauty Good morning New Orleans
