Dave Lowe has been spanking the plank for more years than he can really admit to, and has played in many local bands. Dave's love of blues music, particularly Gary Moore realises a truly complex and professional sound created on this album. The complexity of musicianship meant long hours over laying sometimes five or six guitars for just one piece.
Dave the founder member of the Telford band Rhapsody in Blues enhanced a set of 1970’s and 80’s rock/blues standards. There were few if any bands playing the local circuit with a set including “Wishing Well” Free, “Story of the blues” Gary Moore and “Doctor Doctor” Robert Palmer. Dave turned standards like “something” by the Beatles into blues frenzies.
Dave’s requirement for perfection has enabled a completely unique sound being created which is rare in today’s manufactured, short-term attitude to popular music.
When Rhapsody finally split up in the summer of 1999 each went their separate ways, but Paul and Dave decided to carry on creating the unique sound they had developed on several instrumental pieces.
It was October 2001 when Paul and Dave started to record locally the “with one eye closed” album and although the intention was to invite local musicians in to assist where necessary, every instrument was played by themselves. Dave and Paul’s music will undoubtedly send shivers down the spines of real appreciators of good modern music everywhere.
