This song was written, recorded and sung my late friend, one-time significant other, music partner and band founder Davy Shannon. Davy struggled through life with numerous painful and debilitating ailments, always soothing himself with his guitar. This is one of the few times he ever sang and I think this is his best vocal work. Dorothy H. Sherman, former lead singer and flute player, 4 Ever Erin.
And I forgot to tell you, that while his heart was in Ireland, he was born and lived all his life in the U.S. We were able to get to Ireland for the first time, not long before he died. Thanks to the kindness of the gent running the open mic at Dublin's International Bar, he realized his dream of playing music there. We performed his "To Ireland Someday to Go," and covered "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Dorothy.
