The official web site of the band BANG Everything you wanted to know about BANG Capitol Records 70's group, now reformed and prepairing to tour
BANG Another Time, Another Tomorrow Perry M. Grayson The term "old school" gets thrown around when metal of the eighties is talked about. Now we're going to go back even further. Bang, who formed in 1970, were one of the few bands whose sound defined what heavy was before the term metal was ever coined. The first notes of "Lions, Christians" on Bang's self-titled 1972 LP stands tall with other monolithic slabs of proto-metal like Blue Cheer's fuzzed-out Vincebus Eruptum (1968) and Black Sabbath's first doomy album (1970) Perhaps you've even seen Bang mentioned in the pages of METAL MANIACS. Now we'll journey with them from the basement to the big time, from unsigned obscurity to stadium gigs and major label madness. It was this madness that threatened to-and ultimately did-cause the power trio to founder at the height of their youth and popularity. For bassist/vocalist Frank Ferrara, drummer/lyrics Tony Diorio and guitarist Frankie Gilcken, the music will BANG into the new millennium.

Lyrics
Shaking hiding from their sight We dread to feel their angered might We cannot run from this fate Unjust rewards, they make us wait We all denied their pagan ways We must suffer their deadly sport It might take hours and it might take days Our time on earth is growing short No more pain and wondering why We're with our God he heard our cry We had the vision and now we are free Our screams will live in history We're herded to the bloodstained ground They tell us death by starving hounds Our skin our bones they'll desecrate Our souls our faith they'll never take Our lot was drawn, we choose Our Lord We knew we'd die by beast or sword Our fear of God was strong, stronger than Our fear of death our fear of man
