Story behind the song
I had this idea for a song called "Just Another Day On The Job", based only on the title. The words followed fairly quickly, but the tune was ellusive. Then one day in the studio,Steve played this cord progression, and everything just dropped into place,we had a singer working with us for a few weeks, and this demo was the result. Lyrics
Up early this morning, drag a comb thru my hair Three cups of coffee, and I'm half way there. And I don't like wasting time. I just want to get this day behind. And chalk it up..to another day..Just another day... on the job. I never could, get the hang of Monday. And I never did, get it "My Way". So don't, so don't waste my time. Just let me get this day behind. So let's lock it up .... Let's chalk it up ... To another day ... on the job. So tell me. Why does getting home, always seem to take forever? I'd rather be kickin' back, with a cold beer on soft leather. instead I'm just crawling along, singin' this song. So chalk it up .... Let's raise a cup ... To another day ... To another day on the job. So slide another one down my way. I'm definitely done with this day. And I'd love to waste some time ... Just as long as its' all mine So fill it up ... Let's raise a cup... To another ... Yes , to another , Another day on the job.
