Jennifer Avalon is a singer/songwriter based in Massachusetts. She has had an online presense since 1996, when her website first came online. In 1997, Jennifer started posting a weekly essay to her site. Since that time she's developed an online fanbase, and in 2003 Jennifer decided to start giving her music away for free from her website and from a variety of online music sharing sites like SoundClick.com. She has been blessed to see her music spread around the world through the Internet.

Story behind the song
The song "Shalimar," from the CD Phoenix Rising, was written with the idea that true peace of mind comes from within... that in each of us is a sacred place where our souls reside... and in that place is where peace of mind can truly be found. In ancient India, from what I understand the gardens of Heaven were referred to as "Shalimar," hence I used that word to describe that special, peaceful place.
