Snake Pit Project - Ambient, space, synthesizer, electronica, guitar, fusion, other goodies
Tunes here are, one way or another, "space music," with a lot of inspiration from sci-fi movies and literature. Most in an ambient style. My other SC page - - is eclectic, I take a lot of twists and turns in my interests.

Story behind the song
Attempting to explain what they are looking for with radio telescopes, I heard SETI scientists use the metaphor of a flute note (pure tone) played next to a waterfall (white noise) to explain a coherent radio signal in the presence of cosmic background radio waves. I actually didn't think this was a particularly useful metaphor, but it did inspire the first 10 sec, or so, of this track. I didn't use a flute note, however, and the rest of the tune doesn't really have anything to do with this little tale.
