Welcome to my music website...! I have been singing since I was about 5 years old...but I was very afraid to be heard by anyone...... so I would go in the bathroom to sing ...and try not to be real loud so no one would hear me.... My grandma used to call me in the room and bribe me to sing by offering me a half dollar coin.....I was scared but the money was tempting so I sang real fast ....took the money and ran..... My mama made me do it....Have you ever heard that phrase....?......I had to stay home from school ..because....I was sick with a sore throat....and my mama said...Valerie ..you are gonna sing today...and....I said ...I can't I am sick..today.....She said so......your still going to sing.... Needless to say I did have to sing that day....Mama said...haha.. I sang Gail Davies, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Marie Osmond, Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, Donna Fargo and many, many more...so many I can't remember....in fact...... The very 1st song I performed for the public was Paper Roses..... ..by Marie Osmond....I sang it at a night club contest at the age of 10 years old and won 2nd place....Guess who was 1st place ?.....My mama...of course.....She got the big trophy ..I got the small one.....hahaha....I guess its better than nothin....What do ya think...?... Well I continued to sing when no one was watching....I couldnt sing in front of people at first ..but I could sing just great in my bathroom....alone....Imagine that...Later I found that I could sing for thousands people but not just one......That made no sense to me....Later I figured it all out..... When there are thousands, its no big deal...But when there is one....You feel like you are on display....and in the spotlight...I guess....I dont really understand it a whole lot ,but all I can say is its getting better..... Self esteem and knowing who you are and what you stand for make it much easier...to perform..... Later I performed at church events, fund raisers, weddings, night clubs, etc......Ive sung at many paid events and free ones as well.... I have come to discover that my talent is not limited.......I can sing all genres....Somehow God blessed me with that choice..which is so great..I can bend a little and mix it all up sometimes and its so cool......I can be whatever I need to be to get the job done...... My mission is to touch hearts and make them feel alive ...and to give hope to those who feel there is none....... Come and join me on my musical journey?. :o)

There Are Children Copyright 2004 by : C. Steven Couser (ASCAP) (V1) There’s a lovely park just up the street Filled with happy kids and dirty feet Who are truly loved…beyond measure As they swing away in their safe retreat In a world…where they are treasured (V2) In another park on another street Sits a lonely boy with nothin’ to eat And the only joy, from his daily fight Is to find escape in a pretend life Help bring this child…into the light (Chorus) There are children all around us Filled with sorrow…without trust Filled with pain beyond all reason Empty souls in a world unjust Seeking hope and some redemption A chance to dream is on their mind Wounded children all around us Won’t you love them…it is time (V3) There are children all around us now Where precious words will go unspoken Beyond the darkness that is now their life A constant struggle that goes unbroken Help bring these children…peace of mind (Repeat Chorus) (Bridge) Touch their hearts with love unknown Help sow seeds that go unsown Give them hope where there was none Let them know they’re not alone…cause… (Repeat Chorus) (Tag) Hold them close…dry their tears…take away all that they fear…
