Alan Lowe (Singer/Songwriter) based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
I was born into a musical family with both parents playing in a local dance band. My father played drums and trumpet, never together though, and my mother, played Guitar, Piano, Accordian, Harmonica and the list went on. I have been writing songs for as long as I can remember and in my late teens after signing up for 10 years with the Australian Army I met up with mates Brad and Dick who inspired me to pursue my writing further. I have many and varied musical influences with the Eagles and Neil Diamond at the top of my list. I write songs. Some folk think I do ok, while others are probably too kind to tell me what they really think, but no matter what I still love writing songs and producing demos. Who knows, perhaps one day, someone with a half decent voice will record another one of my songs. It's an honour to have you give a listen and please let me know what you think? Regards, Alan.

The Australian Swagmen and Drovers of Australia's early pioneer history.
Lyrics
Available on the album "The Military Years" 1st Verse: Walking around with my hands in my pockets thinking of somewhere else A dirty old pack slung over my back and a guitar I made myself Well a rolling stone never gathers no moss and that's my philosophy And I'll be moving along you see I can't stay long there's a lot of this world to see 2nd Verse: Well I've seen some days that I'd rather forget and I've seen some days that shine I've been to places that have paid me well and others not even a dime But all in all I've had a good time just movin' from town to town Because the towns all change, some people are strange, but no two days are the same. Chorus: When the sun comes up in the morning The flys buzzing 'round my head Well I pull on my shirt see my boots don't hurt And hit the road again Well I don't care where I've come from And I don't care where I've been Coz there's a lot of this world that I aint seen yet I gotta keep movin' on 3rd Verse: When I grow old I'll find a place where I can settle down A place by the sea with plenty of trees and a rocking chair in the lounge I'll have my home-made beer and plenty of cheers when friends come to visit me And we'll talk of old times when the livin' was fine Movin' from town to town Chorus: When the sun comes up in the morning The flys buzzing 'round my head Well I pull on my shirt see my boots don't hurt And hit the road again Well I don't care where I've come from And I don't care where I've been Coz there's a lot of this world that I aint seen yet I gotta keep movin' on When the sun comes up in the morning The flys buzzing 'round my head Well I pull on my shirt see my boots don't hurt And hit the road again Well I don't care where I've come from And I don't care where I've been Coz there's a lot of this world that I aint seen yet I gotta keep movin' on
