Bio “Breathe Deep might be the greatest recording ever independently release without the support of a record label.” - From the article “Five bands you don’t want to miss” Go Triad Magazine 06/17/04 In an industry teeming with unoriginal bands, The Five L’s have been sent as a savior. With the recent release of their sophomore album, “Breathe Deep,” The Five L’s have solidified their place as North Carolina’s premier band. The Five L’s seamlessly blend funk, metal, hip-hop, alternative, and hardcore in an effort to bring creativity to the masses. Don’t just take our word for it though The Five L’s are sponsored by Jagermeister (NY), Jnco Jeans (LA), Everly Strings (Burbank,CA), and Little John's Tattoo (Greensboro, NC) and are working on several other endorsement deals with companies that recognize the power of this group’s unapologetic message. They have shared the stage with such acts as Slipknot, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Clutch, NonPoint, Three Days Grace, Sevendust, Phunk Junkeez, 2 Skinnee J’s, Flaw, Switched, Twizted (Psychopathic Rydaz), Dying Fetus, Dope, Bile, Stuck Mojo, Ratt, Dog Fashion Disco, and Nocturn. Their single “My Faith” has been chosen for numerous compilation CDs, including Southeast Exports (Knoxville, TN) and the Best of 106.5 The End (Charlotte, NC). It was recently included on the Atlantis Music Conference compilation CD that is distributed nationally to major record label A&R personnel. Several of their songs from “Breathe Deep” have also been utilized in a nationally distributed motocross DVD. “My Faith” was also ranked #1 on Garageband.com four out of its first five weeks on the chart. “Breathe Deep” was produced and mixed by Thomas Johnson, a former member of Porno For Pyros and who has recorded many national acts, including Jane’s Addiction, Rancid, Bad Religion, Marshall Tucker Band, The Warped Tour compilation, South Park (the cartoon show) compilation, The Distillers, Yoko Ono, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, George Clinton, and April’s Motel Room, to name but a few. What does it all mean? The Five L’s headline and pack venues all over the Southeast and are ever expanding. The band is seven strong and ready for anything. From the mystery of their name to the sheer energy of their live performances, The Five L’s are taking over. Again, don’t just take my word for it. Go to their website at www.thefivels.com and click on “View Guest Book.” Read what fans and the bands they have played with have had to say.

Lyrics
shiny things, that attract me to you i think in the end they only hurt me i push away anything that's greater than me cause it only leads to my defeat you gotta go away cause i'm not taking any visitors no none today so i pray for a sign from my faith, my god, why's my head been turning? chorus because it makes me think about my faith, my god, why's my head been turning, my faith my god why's my head been turning away? - it makes you think about the days when you were on top smoking crops with your boys singing f*&k the cops, makes you think about the days that you were on top way above when everyday we used to kick it non stop amazing train of thoughts that leave my mind i'm always so far behind sometimes i think i should be leaving but i struggle, so hard, i find myself believing crazy me, i get so caught up in my faith, my god, why's my head been turning so i just lay here in waiting for my faith, my god, why's my head been turning chorus so you think about the days that you were on top smoking crops with your boys singing f*%k the cops things change, lives become rearranged you gotta stay hard to make it in these days so you go on, keep living a lie yeah you smoke on, keep puffing the lie yeah you hold on, to everything inside but you never stop to think about my faith, my god, why's my head been turning you gotta give me something to believe in...
