Most people pray only when they want something - and most people always want something more. It might be wiser to thank God for what He has allowed us to have already.

Story behind the song
Just thinking about what a gift LIFE is.
Lyrics
ALWAYS THANK THE LORD I’m a simple man With simple pleasures; I do what I can With tiny treasures. I watch the sun rise And count my blessings; Somewhere, someone dies Without confessing. Somewhere, someone dies Without confessing. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I go through my day With joy in my heart; I work and I play Yeah, I play my part. I look up at noon At the bright blue sky; I whistle a tune - I never ask why. I whistle a tune - I never ask why. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I finish my labor, Complete it with pride; Say, “Good night, Neighbor!” And step back outside. I watch the sun set, I throw it a kiss; Don’t think it can get Much better than this. Don’t think it can get Much better than this. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I always have a little; I never have a lot. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. I always thank the Lord For the little I got. Copyright © 2004 Lex Zaleta
