Story behind the song
On that September morning, I watched as the tradegy of 911 unfolded live on TV. All I could do was sit there with tears rolling down my cheeks, and pray for those people who were the victims of hatred. I will never forget!
Lyrics
A Riderless Horse Ronnie Bee Tommy grew up on his daddy's farm Worked in the fields, and took care of the barn Married the girl, chosen High School Queen They settled in an American dream So far away in a hot arid land A cancerous hate from a murderous man Spreading its hatred to all day to day One day it reached out to the U.S.A. Three pilotless planes and a foul band of thieves Brought our great country down on its knees America rose from the smoldering ruin And said "You will pay for this dark deed you've done" One other plane was still left in the air Tom said goodbye to his young lady fair Hung up his cellphone and said, "men, lets roll" They kept that airplane from reaching its goal A riderless horse, and a brave missing man Fallen somewhere on American sand Because they were brave we enjoy being free Their love, gave their lives there for you and for me A riderless horse, and a brave missing man honor these men, who must make such a stand Put up their names for the whole world to see America stands for the brave and the free. America stands for the brave and the free.
