Radio-Active-Music.com is a brand new promotional project primarily supporting indie bands in the glam / goth / industrial / synth genres. The concept behind the site is to bring artists, fans, and industry professionals together into a strong and supportive community by pooling fan bases, industry resources, and musical talent.
Radio-Active-Music.com was founded in May of 2004 by Valdyr, a name anyone submersed in this part of the industry may be familiar with. She loves to support good indie bands any way she can, so www.radio-active-music.com was the inevitable evolution.
Valdyr got her start in the entertainment business in high school when she discovered her love for theatre design and technology. While lighting design and technology is still her main focus, she's branched out into many other aspects of artist support, including scenic art, webdesign, and finally band promotion.
Her career in the music industry started when she was granted an internship with D1 Music Network, the independent record label founded by Jay Gordon of Orgy. From that, she attained more positions, first as webmaster for Fluffy Starr, then for Dead Sexy. She's currently in the process of redesigning sites for several more bands, including Otto's Daughter, as well as planning a promotional campaign for Glamour Kings. She will be releasing a site for singer Lani in the next few weeks, and begins work on sites for bands Redrum and Mind Over Me. Recently, Valdyr's taken on the position of manager for Tripleside, and she continues her internship with D1 as the editor of the Journalism staff.
Radio-Active-Music.com is the latest project, and Valdyr is happy to have a new project solely on her own discretion. Here fans can find the best of tomorrow's music in the glam, goth, hard rock, industrial, synth, and techno genres. Each artist added to the site is previewed to ensure the quality of artistic expression represented by Radio-Active-Music.com.
Within a few months of the launch of Radio-Active-Music.com, the site was ready for an expanded staff. Artist support veteran Jak, most well recognized for his role as promotion and merchendise manager, and later manager, for Club Decease, was added as the the promotional manager and street team coordinator for Radio-Active-Music.com. On the flip side of things, Jak has been the drummer for several bands, including Zoolu Cracker (punk rock), Stitched Root (neu metal), and also in Sindrome (hard rock) with members from Club Decease. Jak is willing and able to support good artists in any way he can, and is currently pursuing his own talents in webdesign.
In October of 2004, Radio-Active-Music.com expanded once again to include Sarah, the highly recognized Street Team Coordinator for 51 Peg, as a member of the Journalism & Photography staff. Music has always been a passion in her life and has definately inspired her to want to get into the music business. Some things she'd like to specialize in as a possible future career would include music promotion, concert photography, and/or merchandising. Sarah also pursues her interest in art, specifically graphic & website design. "I really do think you need to have a passion in whatever you do (career-wise) to actually do a good job."
If you are an artist and interested in being considered for the site, please visit the "FAQ" page on the main site for submission information. A lot of artists have been added as friends here on myspace, but the best way to get some attention is to contact the staff directly.
If you'd like to support Radio-Active-Music.com, please buy a shirt! Or a sticker! Every little bit helps. And be sure to tell your friends where they can find the best music from around the globe.
