Justin Emerging from the true “Heart of Dixie” -Alabama, comes the newest young R&B/Pop phenomenon to hit the industry! Since being born on September 17, 1987 in Athens, Alabama, Justin Montgomery Turner seemed destined from an early age to do great things! From skipping 6th grade due to his advanced learning abilities, to maintaining a 3.4 GPA throughout high school while competing as a top area athlete in football, track, and basketball-Justin has established a work ethic and determination that is unmatched by the average individual. Justin’s passion for singing began the same as many other successful vocalists-in the church. At a young age Justin began singing in the choir at New Life Baptist Church (Athens) and eventually began singing other groups such as the Men of Praise (Chorus) and the Men of Standard (Ministries) whom he traveled with all across the state of Alabama. This experience coupled with vocal coaching and lessons helped create the excellent vocal range and control Justin currently possesses. Justin’s passion soon turned into a goal of making a career out of his singing talent. With the support of his mother, Mesheldia Green, Justin began performing in talent contests, festivals, sports events, and concerts across the southeast. This gave Justin a lot of exposure and he began being noticed by managers, producers, A&R’s, and other music business professionals. All were interested in his ability, but at the time Justin lacked a professional demo package. This lead to his mother contacting some of the producers they met through various events, with a goal of recording quality demo songs. So at the age of 15, Justin went into the studio and recorded the songs “Crush” and “Conversation” which were his first studio recordings ever! He also recorded several cover songs which were added to his demo and were shopped around to various label representatives. Over a period of 18 months, Justin received tons of feedback through phone calls and visits, as well as recording contract offers from independent and major recording companies-but none of the agreements seemed to fit Justin’s long-term career goals. After months of networking at various events, Justin’s demo ended up in the hands of J. Wells, an up and coming producer signed to Music World Music / Columbia. He loved the demo and wanted to work with Justin, but due to his heavy workload he was unable to take the project on. He then turned the demo over to another up and coming producer by the name of Linx Kanek who in turn played the demo for his manager Jeremy “VL” Jones. They both loved what they heard and quickly set up a meeting with Justin and his mother. Upon hearing the plan and vision VL and Linx had for Justin, in March of 2004 they agreed to sign a production agreement to VL’s Redd Klay Entertainment, Inc. subsidiary -Redd Soul. Soon after signing, Justin began recording new songs to package with his demo as well as receiving choreography instruction from local dance teachers. Justin continues to grow as an artist daily by constantly recording and performing with a determination that is fueled by his passion to excel at everything he does. These qualities packaged with tremendous vocal ability and dashing good looks, Justin is sure to secure his place among some of the music industries elite and most revered artists.
