It gives me great pleasure to present to you, Poet. Here’s a little back story on Poet. When he first came to me and asked me to produce him, I hit him with nine different instrumental tracks, one by one, and had him freestyle to them. I was blown away at how quickly he came up with not only material for verses, but the hooks as well. Each track varied from “Dirty South” to “R&B” and from “West Coast” to “East Coast” as well as “Millennium” style grooves. He absolutely destroyed them all. In my years of music production and studio engineering, I have not met an M.C. outside of a young Jay-Z, or others in his league, who can even come close to his powerful delivery and commercially appealing image and sound. Poet is destined for the big time. His determination and hunger has been instrumental in our quest to complete 13 ridiculously "Off Da Hook" songs in less than two month’s time. Now, with over twenty-five songs under his belt Poet is ready to release his first cd entitled “On the Dotted Line” This debut album totally re-defines “Da Chizain” Hailing from Reigel Wood, NC Poet has been rippin’ it up since junior high school and has left no survivors along the road to stardom. Poet has annihilated would be competitors in freestyle battles while living in North Carolina and continued this pattern after moving to California. Now, at 22 years young, Poet has ripped up the stage with Digital Underground, performed at numerous shows and events and has also toured various high schools verbally devouring all who stand in his way. Although Poet “comes wit it hard”, his unique style brings HipHop back to its original form without the barrage of profanity and degradation. With influences like Eminem, Dr. Dre, TuPac, Notorious B.I.G., Petey Pablo and DMX to name a few, Poet has mastered his craft and brings a new dimension to HipHop.
