Africans feeling good to free
You can't know how good the vibe is unless you hear it. Im all about the music. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Im always down for making the sound better.
Started out playing rhythm guitar in New York for the reggae group Lion Force in the early 80s. Toured the US extensively for 7 years doing gigs in various cities and colleges. The band lasted until the beginning of the 90s. After the break up I turned to production which I continue to do now on a daily basis.
Story behind the song
Africans feeling good to be free
Lyrics
Intro Ad Lib:
Oh, no, no, no
Verse 1:
Live the life you love,
love the life you live
For Jah has got so much to give
So you got to be your brothers keeper
The best things in life are free
Chorus:
I'm feeling red, red irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread
I'm feeling red, red irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread
Verse 2:
So you got to hold your heads up high
Don't let the problems get you down
Keep your eyes out for one another
Jah will never, never, never let us down
Chorus:
I'm feeling red, red irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread
I'm feeling red, red irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread
Verse 3:
I don't want to be no buffalo soldier
I don't want to plant your corn
I don't want to build your penitentry
I don't want to be your slave no more
Chorus:
I'm feeling red, red, irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread
I'm feeling red, red, irie in myself
Red, red, irie in myself
Black up dread, black up dread

Outro Ad Lib:
I don't want to be no cook in your kitchen
I don't want to be the cleaner for your floors
I don't want to pick no more cotton
I don't want to work for free no more
