Christ centered songs written by Dan Simmons...the best Gospel and inspirational A.I. music on the internet!
"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. This website will be a sampling of recordings that I, along with family and friends, have done over past 45 years. There are over 600 original unpublished songs presented in demo form on this site. Special thanks go to my partners in music, my daughter Amber, son Ian and the guys of Single Heart (Gene, Bob, Chris, Marty and Tata) who joined me to sing praises to the Lord down through the years. I also wish to thank those co-writers and artists that have joined with me in developing new music the passed few years to share on this website. I'm now featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) groups that I've developed to sing some of the songs. I hope it's evident to everyone... that though the melodies and harmonies, styles and singers may change... JESUS has always been and will always be...the Song! ...this music is one simple expression of a very thankful heart. (Dan is a retired firefighter and ordained minister)

Story behind the song
I set a new melody and bluegrass arrangement to a chorus I wrote that has excerpts from Alfred Brumley's classic "I'll Fly Away" (1929) and Eugene Bartlett's "Victory in Jesus" (1940) ...Grassfire performs it.
Lyrics
If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be I'd see my mom and daddy There on those golden streets And we would sing hallelujah We would shout victory If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be Oh,some glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll fly away To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away. I'll fly away Oh Glory...I'll fly away When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away. If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be I'd see my Lord and Savior The One who died for me I would sing hallelujah I would shout victory If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be Victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever. He sought me and He bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me 'ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood. If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be I'd see my Lord and Savior The One who died for me I would sing hallelujah I would shout victory If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be If I could fly to heaven How wonderful that'd be
