Home of the honorable Reverend Black Dog
Reverend Black Dog (previously Reverend Blackdog) is a singer songwriter performing live, original songs. After hearing friends jam on acoustic guitars, in a Bluemound, Texas backyard, circa 1981, Ron (Reverend Black Dog) bought his own guitar and started recording his own impromptu songs and jams. "Life is more important than art! The past is gone, what is gone is no more, what is now is forever!" - Reverend Black Dog, Dec. 4th, 2025. Reverend Blackdog is revolutionary, radical, very far from the center of public opinion, with ideas that no one seems to be going for; The term black dog is a way of referring to feelings of depression, sadness, melancholy; despondency; the blues, possibly in reference to the mythological black, three-headed demon dog that patrols the house of Hades in Greek mythology. "No company is more hateful than your own, the black dog follows you, and hangs close with hungry fangs." (Horace). The name, Reverend Blackdog was also influenced by the artist name, Black Ace; and songs, Black Snake Moan and Black Dog Blues (by Blind Blake) as well as Black Dog by Led Zeppelin and the Chinese astrological signs Snake and Dog. "Reverend" is a traditional title of respect prefixed to the name of a member of the Christian clergy to which Reverend Blackdog is not part of, and uses with all due respect. - Reverend Black Dog, 11/30/25.

Lyrics
How you doin' out there, got the blues. I ain't nothing special, neither am I. Got to get, get down. Got to get, get down. No I ain't ready to get down, no I ain't ready to be a clown. Gotta drink (a) 'bottle of wine. I got to drink a bottle of wine. No I ain't ready, kicking in .. Give me chemicals, chemicals rule the world. Yeah I'm having a bottle of wine. (GUITAR) Yeah I'm having a bottle of wine. (GUITAR) Yeah I'm having (a) good time. (GUITAR) Yeah..a bottle of wine. Got to start off with a thimble, then you graduate .. then you graduate .. (GUITAR/extended jam). Yeah.. then you graduate. (single cut-4/5/25)
