Acoustic Folk sprinkled with computer effects, 12 string guitars and classical stylings. Some hiphoppy drumbeaty thingees sometimes, too. Introspective Folk.

Story behind the song
Coming to terms with manhood is hard enough, without all the media propaganda trying to tell us what a man is, what he wants, wears, and eats for breakfast. I wrote this about the "ideal" image created by magazines and movies that drowns out instincts in favour of fashion. Fuck fashion - fuck the wankers who devote their lives to creating "markets" of pliable consumers to lap up every accessory they peddle.. they pander to an imagined need, a need they created through the media they utilise to their own filthy ends. Consumerism is a means, not an ends. People who behave as if it's otherwise make me sick. Rant over.
Lyrics
Been looking for a plain girl with a pretty girl’s features Holding back from love just to keep these fucked ideals Some craziness I learned on TV - that beauty is the shape of the body And the soul is just a good actor’s hobby If I ever go insane and get chained to hell’s wicker basket Then by some miracle an overworked demonic cleric Should let me off on a technicality Shuffling over blistered souls on my way back to the light I’ll remember all the girls I ignored because they didn’t look like The ones I saw on the television my whole fuckin’ life up to this point I believed that it wasn’t love unless they held me tight There’s some truth in the danger Of being too headstrong The heart doesn’t have a chance Unless the head goes to hell
