Story behind the song
"Great rock music often starts with a great riff. "Gleam" by Poised for the Worm is driven by several punchy riffs, delivered with a great performance by the band. The guitars have a nicely distorted density and the many quick stops accent the band's interplay. The guitars and vocals are reminiscent of hard rock music from the late seventies, particularly Uriah Heep, Head East, and Triumph. Luckily, great rock is timeless and Poised for the Worm prove that they are poised to deliver the goods. "Gleam" is a rocker, with excellent lyrics, that really gleams, and outshines most of the hard rock of the last several years." --grayotis
