If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Story behind the song
5 days ago I went to visit a lady in the nursing home who was dying. She said "I'm sorry pastor I don't have a conventional belief in heaven" She thought I would be upset but I was touched by her heartfelt belief not in religion but a relationship with Jesus. I recorded this song and I'm praying that she is still alive so that I can play it for her.
Lyrics
Heaven Like the song writers say, I’ll fly away. Not to long from now My Savior gonna call and then he’ll meet us all , way up in the clouds On that great getting-up-morning -what a-day-of-rejoice , -it’s gonna be But what if we arrive to a surprise heavens different than we believed What If the streets of gold have pot holes And the pearyl gates are rust closed And the mansion I’m to be living in is nothing but a hole What if heavens different than we believed If there’s no jewels for my crown And my white robe stained brown And I have angel wings on but they only let me down. Is Heaven Still Heaven? If it’s different than we believed I’m not suggesting, that you start second guessing, everything you’ve been taught I’m just merely hoping your not put all your trust in things that can be bought Heavens not a collection of earthly possession, we greedily receive Heavens not about what’s up there. But about with whom we get to share eternity, And that’s what counts for me So If the streets of gold have pot holes And the pearly gates are rust closed And the mansion I’m to be living in is nothing but a hole What if heavens different than we believed If there’s no jewels for my crown And my white robe stained brown And I have angel wings on but they only let me down. Is Heaven Still Heaven? If it’s different than we believed You can keep your gold And shiny white robe In a thousand years or so It’ll all seem so old But what I’ll never tire of Is worshipping at the feet of my king. You can keep your gold And shiny white robe In a thousand years or so It’ll all seem so old But what I’ll never tire of Is worshiping at the feet of My King. ( So If the streets of gold have pot holes And the pearly gates are rust closed And the mansion I’m to be living in is nothing but a hole What if heavens different than we believed If there no jewels for my crown And my white robe stained brown And I have angel wings on but they only let me down. Then that’s alright with me, heavens about my King And that’s what I believe! Written by Joseph Johnson 7-16-18 Sung by Mitch Lohman Music by Mantra beats
