singer/songwriter/guitarist/solo act. Seamlessly melding country, blues, and folk
Jamey Darnold is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/ solo act originally from the banks of the Mississippi river town of Burlington, Ia. He has released to his credit 13 full length albums that seamlessly meld country, blues, and folk styles spanning from 2004's "Burlington Bound.. a railroad town" to 2023's "The Running River". He is influenced by up and coming Americana artist such as "Jason Isbell" to the folk rock classics of "The Eagles", and Neil Young. Now residing in rural Kane county Illinois and armed with only guitar and harmonica. He can hold audiences "young and old" and will invite you to listen, enjoy, and to reflect on all His multi-generational/ genre music styles.

Story behind the song
A life long friend of mine who left this world too soon. Countless future retirement plans we made gone forever.
Lyrics
ADRIFT USUALLY FEEL LIKE A MILLION BUCKS LIFE AND VALUES I HOLD SUCH LUCK ADDING CASH TO MY PASSING DAYS THESE GOLDEN YEARS THEY ALWAYS PAY ALL THESE YEARS I DESERVE IF I SPEND TO MUCH, IT DOESN'T HURT ALWAYS CLIMBING UP THAT HILL JUST LIVING LIFE, ITS SUCH A THRILL I COULD GO TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD I WOULD FIND A THOUSAND PEARLS BUT DOWN HERE, I 'LL HAVE TO STAY I TURNED, FIFTY CENTS , TODAY WITH SOME LIFE UP OUR SLEEVES WE SHARED THE ROADS AND SHOT THE BREEZE YOU TOOK WORDS CLEAN OUT OF MY MOUTH ALWAYS HAD THE BETTER ROUTE YOU DETOURED, TOOK THE WRONG WAY AND LEFT ME HERE, ALL ASTRAY HANGING HERE, OUR FINAL LAP STACKS ARE HIGH, WE LOST THAT TRACK TO FEEL THIS EMPTY IS ONE WAY TO SAY I TURNED, FIFTY CENTS, TODAY
