Story behind the song
The first time I saw the Eagles live in 1972 they were a 4 piece guitar band Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner and Don Henley On their last tune Glenn asked if we would all like to hear a new song that will be on their next record and they played already gone. Glenn sang lead vocals and played the solo guitar parts. They were playing songs off their new LP that included Take it Easy and Bernie Leadon played banjo on that tune. Already gone was more of a rocker than the rest of what they played that night and was a good way to end the show. It has remained one of my favorite Eagles songs and I've seen them live several times and they always played it. I thought I would give it a shot and so I recorded it this weekend for fun. My version is more like the way Jack Tempchin originally wrote the lyrics. And I don't do the key change towards the end (the notes are just too high) I do it more like the Eagles played it later in life like at Montruex jass fest

Go man go on that bass! How can anybody not like the Eagles? (except for "The Dude" Lebowski) Such a great feel good tune sung with energy and passion. Cool guitars and fine harmonies. You rocked it Dale..nice job!!

Great rendition of this classic. I think it's deplorable that The Eagles are doing a show in NYC without any Felder or Frey - oh well, I enjoyed this and you did it well.

Wow, nice cover Dale! Great guitar work. I would have brought up the levels on your vocals a tad but maybe it's just me (hearing ;-) or headset). Your vocals suite this track very well. Awesome!

Cool and vivid rendition of a great Eagle´s hit Dale!! I agree with all the listeners here, a fantastic production, who can stay quiet listening here? Had my feet tapping on the floor and clapping hands to the rythm! Super drums fill-out too!! Well done Dale! :)

Very cool cover! Solid guitarwork and beautyful harmony-singing. Love the slow stereo-fade when soloing. Makes me think back when I played in several bands during the 70's and 80's. We had 'Take it easy' on the repertoar. Thanks for the nostalgic flashback:)
