Story behind the song
In 2013, I was unable to sing for over a year because of a growth around my vocal cord. After surgery and divine healing, I was so moved that I sat in a chapel, thinking and meditating about the greatness of God. The result was this great gift. It came naturally...I did not hustle to write the lyrics or rhyme
God does not call the perfect ... He perfects the called. He lifted up a low life like me to sing His praise. This is the main reason why I praise him.
Lyrics
HOW GREAT IS THE LORD
Lord I prefer to sing of your love every time
Cos am redeemed of all my sins everyday
Oh you are the reason I breathe, the reason I live
The reason I love to sing your praise
For in your presence oh Lord, my life is secure
All that I am and yet to be
How great is the Lord, how wonderful is the Lord (x2)
Who has interest in someone like me, unworthy as I am
Who has interest in someone like you, unworthy as you are
A low life like me - You lifted up to sing your praise
A low life like us - You lifted up to sing your praise
We have nothing else to give you
But the praises that you really deserve, awesome God
We have nothing else to give you
But the praises that you really deserve, awesome God
How great is the Lord - How great - How great!
I don’t believe - in speculations - not at all
Over the years you’ve been tested many times
Now You are the source of my joy, my great comforter
All of my days I’ll sing for you
For in your presence oh Lord, my life is secure
All that I am and yet to be
How great is the Lord, how wonderful is the Lord (x2)
Who has interest in someone like me, unworthy as I am
Who has interest in someone like you, unworthy as you are
A low life like me - You lifted up to sing your praise
A low life like us - You lifted up to sing your praise
We have nothing else, nothing else, nothing else than the praise that we give.
