Conceived c1989.This is Take 1/2 Mix 11. Recorded c1989 Yamaha MT-100 & October 2016 Sonar X1
An improvised very, VERY twisted sketch, which was originally recorded in 1989 (under the influence of copious amounts of THC!! :-p) as the two main title protagonists get stoned, explore a cave, & get lost in it.....
.....then are stalked by & ultimately meet.....
....the horrifying antagonist OTHER title character.......
........which is when everything goes WAY F***ING south......
REAL F***ING QUICK!!! :-o
Recorded this with a Radio Shack condenser microphone that had a 1/4'' plug going into a Pedal FX chain of Reverb, Delay & Distortion, literally making it up as I went along.
Although, this didn't really start fully fleshed out with the whole "Wally & Maynard...." thing.
It was actually started as experimenting with the various setting parameters on my Reverb & Delay effects pedals, but eventually evolved into the whole "W&M meet...." sketch about half way into it!
Recorded this first take onto stereo 2 tracks, alternating between all 3 characters.
Then a while later, did another take with "Wally" & "Maynard" on separate tracks, & the "GOF" on the other 2 tracks.
However, the last apx. 5 minutes of this take were accidentally wiped out, & besides that, the "GOF" tracks were not recorded loud enough.
So I hobbled together the best parts of both takes into DAW, then proceeded to slice, dice, chop, grate, boil, NUKE, & otherwise move clips around & around into some semblance of order (though some parts are still a little off between W&M).
Then I added some appropriate sound FX from a sound card for my Drum Machine, and from my keyboard.
I would post the "lyrics" for it, but that would spoil the surprise double twist "punchline" ending to it!..........
........Or then again, maybe NOT..........because it becomes pretty damn obvious towards the last couple of minutes (after the first "twist") where it's headed! ;)
So here's the Cliff Notes version, & spoiler alert:
After everything transpires between Wally, Maynard, & the GOF EXACTLY the way you think it will (& in a very VERY audio graphic-WAY!).....
...suddenly "Wally" wakes up, & it was all a nightmare brought on by smoking 20 pounds of hashish.....
When suddenly, there's a persistent & loud knock on the door........
...he goes to answer, making an exasperated comment about the late hour, & that it "better not be some college kid selling newspapers..."
.....& the person at the door is one .....
....MAYNARD. G. F**K (!)...
...who happens to be f***ing his way through college...
