New Song and Video "Listen to the Girl" a lesson for younger people. The best way to get to know someone is FACE to FACE. The Human Way.
The Stray Dawgs are from Plantation, Florida. Lew Dawg Cloninger is the founding member and plays guitars and sings (many people refer to it as hollering). Founding member Steve Sallaz plays bass, sings and also does most of the mixing and mastering of our recordings. He also plays a variety of percussion instruments. We have many other musician friends that help us out at live shows as well as recording. Huge thanks go out to Susan Ivory Blue who has played piano and organ on many of our recordings and gigs. Also special thanks to Lew Knapper for his help with Texas blues harp on many of our songs.

Story behind the song
I've been going to this little bar in Dania Beach, Florida for 25 years. I knew the lady who started the business and have had the acquaintance of many good friends there over the years. Many of them however, including the lady who started the bar have passed on. This song is to remember those people fondly.
Lyrics
V1 I used to meet an uncle here in the summer after work. He weren't to much to look at, but he sure knew how to flirt. He'd sit and talk to the pretty girls. This uncle they all knew. He'd sympathize and warm their hearts like sunshine on the dew. Chorus: Dark days roll to weeks; weeks to months and then to years. Memories like shadows no longer filled with tears. When time recalls the faithful, we'll gather now and then to smile upon the old days when the angels were our friends. V2 He'd show up at the ball field to represent the trash. He wouldn't swing no metal. He preferred to hit with ash. Didn't want to be no hero. Didn't want to be no star, but you can bet your ass he'd give his all for his buddies at the bar. Chorus: V3 He tended bar for charity. To rallies he would go. He loved them motorcycles and his sweetheart, don't you know. He'd call the band for "Jailhouse Rock" or "Drinkin my Baby Goodbye". Now he's twistin back the throttle on that blacktop through the sky. Chorus: V4 For the pleasure of your company, I'd gladly travel far. If we get to old to drink and drive, we'll walk down to the bar and raise a glass for them that's left and more for them that's gone. For one thing is for certain. We will all get called back home. Chorus: End with We'll raise a glass to the good old days and when the angels were our friends.

This is my favorite song of The Stray Dawgs, lyrics are amazing and the vocals and instrumentation are right on with the atmosphere and feel of the song. Great Job on this!!
