If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame me.
If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.
Lyrics
I need a Savior
I need a Savior
Whose arms are open wide
Who’s here to save our lives
Who can hear me cry
I need a Savior
Whose arms are open wide
Who’s here to save our lives
Who can hear me cry
I need a Savior (yeah) Who can hear me cry
I need a Savior (yeah)
Whose arms are open wide
I get shook when I think of my Lord’s Amazing Grace
And all my sins, all my guilt, and all my faults, did erase
I was sentenced to death, but the Lord, took my place
I was guilty as sin but the Lord dismissed my case
Born again as a new man and I’m breathing fresh air
I’m free, so believe, I aint going back there
Living forgiven don’t know what you’ve been told
been changed and rearranged, I’m on parole
See I was Expelled and jailed for my behavior
Thought I could help myself, and didn’t need savoir
Disgraced with no faith I gave up hoping
Just When I thought all was lost my heart opened
My Savior Jesus Christ, sacrifice paid the price
I did the crime, he did the time, his death gave me life
It was His death, and nothing else, that gave life back to me
his resurrection and my confession make it life abundantly
What about friends still in the pen, that haven’t heard
confused and gonna lose, they don’t know the Lord
How will receive, and believe in Jesus’ gospel
I don’t know, but I’ll go If it’s God’s will
Our justice disgusts us, jail aint a joke
And once there, no one cares, not even good folks
Jesus saved and forgave the thief at his side
He paid the cost up on the cross, arms open wide
The spirit of the Lord is upon me. For he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord!
